The Book Cafè Aizawl sits tucked behind Planet Fashion in Chanmari, offering a quiet nook that combines a café vibe with a small bookshop atmosphere. This spot tends to attract those who appreciate a calmer setting—students, remote workers, and readers looking to escape the usual buzz of the city. With cozy seating and warm lighting, it feels more like a local living room than a busy coffee stop.

The menu highlights a solid range of hot and cold beverages. Their cappuccino and cold coffee are frequently mentioned, providing a reliable caffeine fix for visitors. The momo with soup stands out as a comforting snack that pairs well with the drinks, making it a practical choice to settle in for a session of reading or chatting. Cakes like strawberry and blueberry cheesecakes are available, adding an occasional sweet touch to the experience.

One notable aspect is the carefully curated collection of books, spanning fiction and nonfiction in both English and Mizo languages. This blend gives a distinct local flavor that can be a refreshing find, especially for visitors interested in northeast India. Some come just for the chance to flip through these shelves, while others stay to work or meet friends, making the space feel like a community hub.

Space can get a bit tight during peak hours, so it’s best for short visits or quick meets rather than long stretches with large groups. The friendly staff and a reliable WiFi connection support those who want to get some work done. Frequent book readings and discussions add a cultural layer, encouraging visitors to engage beyond just dining.

To sum up, this café fits best for anyone who enjoys quiet corners with books and quality coffee in Aizawl’s city center. Mid-mornings and weekday afternoons tend to be more relaxed, while evenings can fill up with local events and talks. It’s not a spot for those in large groups or looking for fast service, but a nice pause for thoughtful conversation or solitary reading sessions.

It has become my go to place in Aizawl. A place for peaceful sitting with books and coffee. Thoughtfully maintained. Advise: may increase the choice of foods a little bit.

A nice place to sit and have a look at your fav books. Also, you can do chit chat with your never shutting friends. They have a nice collection of books of both fiction and Non-fiction sections. I'm from haryana and love books and it's not usual to find places like this.

This quaint cafe was easily the best-find during our 4-day stay in Aizawl! The place is very tastefully crafted with interesting art, warm-lighting and well-curated books. We bought 4 books on North East India which was a really good find. They have a lot of activities happening here with book reading sessions, talks and conversations. We tried and liked Cappuccino, Americano and iced lemon tea. It was the view outside the window that really blew my mind as I lost myself amidst the blue haze of the rolling hills. The birdsong of swallows and sparrows was the perfect soundtrack for the evening. The moment was the embodiment of tranquility.

The place is cozy and nice. This place offers coffee, cappuccinos, espresso etc and some cakes and snacks. You can read and buy English and Mizo novels but the place do not offer ample spaces so I advise you not to stay long so theres space for others

A wonderful place for book lovers and for meeting up with friends. One of my favourite place in Aizawl. The place has been extended with a private room where one can rent as an individual or as a group for various purposes and projector is also installed which can be used for watching movies etc. During my recent visit, we sat at the balcony of the extended room with lots of privacy for conversations. Keep up the good work.
